About

My main areas of interest are transition cow nutrition, high yielding intensive herds and robotic systems, however I am working more and more with grazing herds that need spot consultancy at only peak times of the year.

Farming with my husband and two small boys on a Staffs county council farm, we milk 350 Holsteins 3x averaging 12000L, utilising grazed grass.  My technical experience backed by my research is put into practical use at home. I aim to keep things uncomplicated. I don't advocate the use of unnecessary bagged products unless they are absolutely required.

Prior to going independent, I worked for a commercial feed firm as a ruminant nutritionist and youngstock product manager, before leaving to do a PhD in my favourite topic, transition. So I have an understanding about how feed firms operate, and where you can best save your money using products that feed firm-aligned nutritionist may not suggest.
